Summer at KOM
Information for students
The administration and study advisor's offices at KOM are closed for the summer (June 21-August 11). E-mails will be read sporadically during the whole summer. Serious emergencies are referred to our Head of Department, Tobias Linné (telephone +46-46-222 41 64 or email: tobias.linnekom.luse). Note that the Swedish summer holidays mean that most staff members are away from mid-June to early August. Please be patient if you are trying to reach us during this time and expect longer response times.
For those of you who have applied to a course or programme, please see information on your application at University Admissions. If you have questions about your application, contact the UA contact centre, or the Lund University Admissions office.
For those of you re-taking exams or submitting essays in August: no sign-up needed, but make sure you are registered or re-registered to the course in question.
- Read more about media and communication studies re-examinations in August.
- For information about re-examination in Media history, Rhetoric or Journalism, contact your course co-ordinator.
The International Desk is open all summer
If you have general questions the International Desk for university students is open and available on phone all summer. They can answer questions about applications, studies and student life. They can also help with practical matters, such as how to find your way around the university.

Master students/MSc in Media and communication
Information about a welcome event will be sent to you in early August.
Letters with information about courses and introductory meetings will be sent out in good time before the fall semester begins. Course schedules, syllabuses and reading lists will also be found on the courses' webpages about the same time.
If you were in the final year of your Bachelor’s studies when you applied to Lund University and are conditionally admitted, we ask you to please submit your final transcripts and diploma to University Admissions as soon as you receive them.
Current master students who want to sign up for our courses Media, Health and society (15 credits) and/or Media and political engagement (15 credits) for their second year in the programme will get more information about how to do so in the beginning of August. You are all guaranteed a place on those courses.
