I joined the PhD program in Media History in 2024. My main research interests are journalism and journalistic routines and practices in post-Soviet Russia.

I have a BA in Journalism from St. Petersburg State University, Russia, and an MSc in Media and Communication Studies from Lund University, Sweden. Before starting my PhD, I worked as a journalist and editor, covering local economy and bottom-up initiatives in Russian cities outside the capital region.

My PhD project will focus on the way independent Russian journalists have adapted to the cultural, social, economic and political changes in the country between 1980 and 2020.
