For two days (August 18-19) 30 researchers from fourteen universities in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, will convene at the Pufendorf Institute for the founding symposium of the Nordic Network on Media, Communication, and Health (NNMCH). "We were surprised by the great interest in joining the network. Unfortunately we had to reject several applications for attending the meeting". There is a growing scholarly interest in issues related to media and health, but researchers in the field are a bit scattered and often work isolated. The network is timely. "There seem to be a need for it, to build capacity, and form a more visible and vibrant media and health community in the Nordic countries", Helena Sandberg says.
Helena Sandberg, Associate professor in Media and Communication Studies is hosting the symposium.
The symposium is funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond.
