What is the aim of the project?
– The project’s intention is to create a forum for sharing perspectives on present and future media landscapes, in India and Sweden, including the role of being a journalist and how journalism may be produced in a digital and global context.
What aspects of journalism and media will be covered?
– The project group will focus on five areas of journalism and media:
- A journalist’s working conditions
- Political influence on media
- Online ethics
- Gender in media

When will the workshop be held?
– The first workshop will take place on October 19 and 20 at AF Borgen in Lund. From 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on the first day our Indian colleagues will share their experiences and views. The second day will consist of panel talks between Swedish and Indian media researchers and journalists. Everyone is invited and fika (refreshments) will be served.
– The second workshop takes place from December 7 to 9 in Delhi. It will mirror the workshop in Lund and let Swedish media researchers and journalists share their perspectives. The third day will be a collaboration between the Lund University’s masters program “Social Innovation in a Digital Context” which has been funded by the Swedish Institute and conducted by the Lund University Internet Institute since 2012. Alumni will speak of their experiences in the program and the group will discuss social innovation, digital media and the future of this challenging field.
